The Fall: Adam, Eve & The Apple

…And so it goes, from the beginning of time, the omnipresent eye has been watching and monitoring.

Adam, a half life-size figure, conveys the psychological aftermath of Eve’s transgression through his tense, protective posture, vulnerability, and his conscious choice to eat the forbidden fruit. Finished with a rich black patination that echoes the darkness of the narrative and the weight of judgement, the sculpture explores the meeting point of ancient theological origins and contemporary surveillance culture. Presented as a central pillar of the Adam & Eve series, ‘The Fall’, Adam invites viewers to reflect on the experience of living under constant observation.

The Apple: is the silent yet pivotal object within the narrative — the tangible embodiment of choice, and the moment when abstract desire becomes action. Cast in iron resin, it distils the series' exploration of judgement and surveillance into a single, loaded form; a symbol of human curiosity and the irrevocable loss of unexamined innocence.
